Trauma recovery is about more than tolerating symptoms. In my practice, I support clients in learning skills to teach their bodies and brains to feel safe. Then we work together to process traumatic memories so you can become unstuck from old, ineffective patterns and build a values-driven, joyful life.
What does a values-driven, joyful life even look like?
I hear you! If you have lived in a state of reactivity for as long as you can remember, it may be difficult to even imagine that more joyful life. Some of my favorite experiences in the therapy room include when clients share that they:
Felt a sense of connection and belonging in their relationships
Expressed compassion for themselves, instead of criticism
Felt neutral in response to previous stressors such as food, family members, work, socializing, and trauma reminders
Enjoyed a hobby without that old feeling of dread
Experienced sexual pleasure with a partner for the first time
